Purpose-built for skin cancer

Everything under one roof, with the same team.

SkinGP is a purpose-built skin cancer clinic located in Woodend, in the heart of the Macedon Ranges. We opened on 1 July 2024 to address a clear and pressing need: the Macedon Ranges had no dedicated skin cancer facility, and patients were either relying on general practice appointments or travelling to Melbourne for care.

Our clinic is staffed by Accredited Skin Cancer Doctors and equipped with advanced imaging technology. Where treatment is required, it can be administered here in-clinic — this rapid response directly improves patient outcomes.

Why SkinGP

Dedicated skin cancer care, not a general appointment.

Accredited Skin Cancer Doctors

The only Accredited Skin Cancer Doctors in the Macedon Ranges. A distinction held by a select group of practitioners across Australia, recognised by the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

Advanced Imaging Technology

Every Full Skin Check uses the FotoFinder system, combining full-body skin mapping, high-definition dermoscopy, mole monitoring, and AI-assisted analysis in one thorough consultation.

Treatment In-Clinic, Without Delay

When something is found, it is managed here. Biopsy, excision and treatment all happen in-clinic, without the need for referral or travel to Melbourne.

The SkinGP Mission

Zero deaths from melanoma. Skin cancer affects 1 in 5 Australians. SkinGP exists to change those numbers — bringing expert, Accredited skin cancer care right here to the Macedon Ranges.

Advanced Detection

Technology designed to find what the naked eye can miss.

Every Full Skin Check at SkinGP uses the FotoFinder system — the same technology used by leading skin cancer clinics internationally.

Total Body Photography

Creates a comprehensive photographic map of your skin, giving future appointments a precise baseline to compare against. New or changing lesions become visible that might otherwise be missed.

High-Definition Dermoscopy

Allows your doctor to examine structures beneath the skin surface at up to 40x magnification — revealing detail invisible to the naked eye.

AI-Assisted Analysis

FotoFinder's AI tools support the doctor's clinical judgement. They assist with pattern recognition and tracking — but your doctor's assessment always comes first.

Mole Mapping & Total Body Photography

The gold standard for monitoring your skin over time.

At SkinGP, every Full Skin Check includes Mole Mapping and Total Body Photography using the advanced FotoFinder system. By creating a detailed photographic record of your skin, your doctor can monitor existing moles, identify new lesions and compare changes over time with a level of accuracy that simply isn't possible through visual examination alone.

Early Detection

Mole Mapping helps identify new or changing lesions earlier, improving the likelihood of detecting melanoma and other skin cancers at their most treatable stage.

Reduced Unnecessary Procedures

Not every mole needs to be removed. Mole Mapping helps distinguish stable lesions from those that require further investigation, supporting more informed clinical decisions.

Objective Comparison

Your images are retained securely and compared side-by-side at future appointments. This provides an objective baseline and reduces reliance on memory alone.

Designed for Higher-Risk Patients

Particularly valuable for patients managing multiple moles, atypical lesions, a personal or family history of skin cancer, or significant lifetime sun exposure.

Why Mole Mapping matters.

For patients with multiple moles, a history of skin cancer, or concerns about changing lesions, Mole Mapping is one of the most effective tools available for ongoing skin surveillance.

Particularly valuable if you:

  • Have many moles or freckles

  • Have atypical or unusual-looking moles

  • Have previously had skin cancer

  • Have a family history of melanoma

  • Have experienced significant sun exposure throughout your life

Who Should Book

Skin cancer doesn't discriminate.

You do not need a specific concern, a family history, or a high-risk profile to have a skin check. That said, certain factors make regular checks especially important.

  • Fair skin or a history of significant sunburn

  • Previous skin cancers or pre-cancerous lesions

  • Family history of melanoma or skin cancer

  • Outdoor work, sport or lifestyle

  • Many moles or freckles

  • A new, changing, bleeding or unusual spot

  • You have never had a professional skin check

Concerned about a spot?

If something has changed, get it checked. Many serious skin cancers begin as subtle changes to an existing mole or a new spot that doesn't look particularly alarming.
