Cancer Council Australia's guidance is clear: regular clinical skin examinations lead to melanoma being detected at an earlier, thinner stage, which is directly linked to better outcomes. Removing the referral step means one less reason to put off a check you were always going to need eventually.

A Full Skin Check at SkinGP includes a comprehensive dermoscopy consultation and FotoFinder total body photography, mapping and measuring your entire skin so there's a clear baseline for comparison at your next visit. If you've noticed a specific spot that's changed, an Urgent Lesion Review is available for a faster, more focused assessment. But for everyone else, a Full Skin Check doesn't require a symptom, a referral, or a reason. It just requires booking.
